Congrats to Nadeshiko Japan on being #1!! The women’s World Cup finals! Japan vs America The match was by no means an easy one for Japan. The American player Wambach is 181cm tall?!… Having never won a match against America before But with Ando going 1 on 1 against the keeper America was first to take the lead 0 – 1 And then extra time, With the American defense tightening up and time running out… It was really turning into one of those epic games you can’t miss! ><\n\nBut right before time ran out, Japan was given a red card\nand our last obstacle would be an American free kick\nI was like \"Please please please...!\" the entire time in front of the TV\nAnd an another amazing save happened! \nSo we went straight into penalty kicks\nAnd what a wonderful PK round it was!! Kaihori had such nice saves!!\n\nActually because I had done futsal in the past,\nI had met the Nadeshiko girls before...\nso I felt like I really connected with them as I watched\n\nEspecially Kaihori\nI myself was a goal keeper so I really felt like I knew \nwhat was going through Kaihori's mind at the time\n\nSchool wise she was actually one year ahead of me,\nbut actual age wise we were the same. So I could really relate ^^\n\nAs a goal keeper you face so many crucial moments\nand with 3 keepers on the roster\nwhen you are the one selected to play in such an important match...\nyou're happy but it's tough because you don't want to let the team down\n\nAnd most importantly, those penalty kicks determine the winner.\n\nWhat was going through Kaihori's mind I wonder\n\n\"Is extra time starting right away?\" Maybe that?\nShe was so amazing with her save on Wambach's shot\nand her kick save against the first PK shot.\n\nNow I know I'm not the best person to give commentary about football\nbut I just really like the game\nAnd having experienced a game like this and blogging about it\nyou would think I would come up with something deep or inspiring to say... ><\n\nbut I was just really moved by the game\nso I decided to write about it ^^\n\nFalling behind, then catching up, \nthen falling behind again, then catching up again...\nthis was by no means an easy game\nit was a fight all the way to the finish\nand that was simply amazing.\n\nI've talked to a few people about it now\nand they've said it made them appreciate again\nhow important it is to never give up\n\nRight before the PK round started \nthe \"circle of smiles\" really impressed me\nBut more than anything the joy in their faces when they won\nand how they held each other in the tense moment before\n\n\nSo my writing has turned to garbage now...\nbut sports really is just so amazing!!\n\nNadeshiko Japan, thank you for everything!\nAnd congratulations!\n\n\n...I'll keep these feelings in my heart and work hard myself!\nor some kind of feeling like that ^^\n\n\n\n\n\n\n<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" I was really so touched Congrats to Nadeshiko Japan on being #1!! *Nadeshiko is the female football association The women’s World Cup finals! \nthis was certainly going to be tough<\/p>\n
\nand Kaihori making a nice save against Wambach’s header
\nand that really close cross from Ohno to Ando…!
\nafter all that…<\/p>\n
\nBut!! Miyama brought us back with a goal 1 – 1
\nI was so excited at this point<\/p>\n
\n… in the first half, America’s Wambach added another goal 1 – 2<\/p>\n
\nCaptain Sawa scored the game tying goal!!! 2 – 2!<\/p>\n
