Learn about the bit of the journey that has nothing to do with NY but more about my travel getting there! Next part is currently in progress!

So it’s already been about a week since the journey started, and everyone’s been coming down from their highs and lows. But after a week of seeing everyone celebrating their victories, swallowing their regrets, and I feel like it I need to set aside the time to sum up the good and the bad of it all. So unlike the last time I wrote a report, how bout we just get down to it. I’m going to assume you guys already know I’m not rich or magic or anything. (lol)

Okay there is one disclaimer, I’m going to use random pseudonyms for people based on their roles, just because I didn’t ask anyone for permission. No big deal, also I don’t know a lot of people’s names that I meet anyway ^^ sorry nice people.

The Travel
I’m sure it’s not something you want to hear about but if you want to know about the experience you get at least a paragraph about the travel. Painting you a picture, my journey to NY started with a 9 and a half hour flight from the land where palm trees sway to the city of our fortune. And while SOMEONE, let’s call him Crazyman, liked to comment that it was a 12 hour flight he would be sorely mistaken (and I’ve told him many a time…*cough*you know who you are*cough*). In any case a long flight with a friend with at most 2 hour naps here and there does not complete sleep make. Surprisingly while I felt okay at first, landing at 7 in the morning, taking a train with the wonderful friend, let’s use the name Mikata (Japanese for ally since this friend was my guide for most of this trip), who provided me lodging into the pouring and sudden rain storms, and then going out for some NYC pizza took the entire life out of me and after securing myself some necessities I didn’t bring (cause let’s be honest here the airline security issue makes bringing things a butt sometimes) the rest of the day was rather broken sleeping off and on. A “terrific” start to the trip as we decided we needed to wake up at 4AM for the concert day.

The Morning
4AM rolled in like a freight train, a restless night of my stomach adjusting to a new area made sleep as comforting as someone kicking you in the ribs. We awoke, my stomach still feeling sensitive I forewent eating breakfast, instead packing my signature blue vest/jacket with the Pop-Tarts I brought with me as an emergency food source, as we went on our train ride to the city. Instances with the train and its need for maintenance created minor delays, which combined with our sluggishness that morning resulted in our arrival around 20 minutes past the 6 o’clock hour.
Walking toward the theater we find the front of the box office and with it a line of people already there, somewhat in a craze. From the front pops out Crazyman, the crazy magical man who had been in that line well before I even woke up that morning. While we merely just arrived he approached us hunched over on himself nearly frozen. It was a sign of the sheer amount of hardship these people had already contributed to the cause. We could see some of the other people including some of my other friends in line, keeping their morale boosted with music and dance, seeing that even in the early morning these people were still in high spirits was encouraging.

We worked our way to the back of the line, the line already broken in two as to not obstruct the shops in the area and the ever busy walkways of the New York Streets. Meeting Mikata’s forum-mates we took our place amongst the line, close to the Oakley store on the corner of the street, while I never counted I assume we were near the beginning of the hundreds in line. Countdown around ten and a half hours to go (Don’t worry I’m not going to go through all of it ^_-).

—-
Stay tuned for more about the journey including hearing about the line (both as an organization from the event and as a community), the venue, the concert, the handshake, and the after-thoughts! Lots more coming soon!

Also feel free to comment on each part where relevant to let me know what you like or if you cared about any particular thing you learned!

The first part of my MM14NYC report!
