Sayu’s New Blog! (Feedback Wanted!)

Head’s up Nantoreaders!

Sayu’s got herself a blog upgrade! (or maybe you’d just call it a shift?)

Now she’ll be posting on both her Gree blog (the pretty blue treeful blog this site is matching in style) and her new Ameblog (the pink and sparkly new blog with the pretty header). For how long this simultaneous blog posting will last we can’t say, and if this is a hint at the future I don’t think we can say either, but for now she has stated that she’ll be running on both blogs and who are we to say she’s lying  ^^;.

In any case, with that you’ll be noticing that some of her blogs will be formatted differently to match the style that we rip from the ameblog entries, with the date on the top and the link back to their site accessed through the text usually marked “Original URL”.

How will this effect you? That’s for you Nantoreaders to decide!  We’re have a poll question at the bottom of this entry that you can take part of to help organize this site.

In addition provide us feedback in the comments for this entry on topics regarding the format of the entries and this site including but not limited:

  • If you’d like the formatting of Ameblo based entries to differ (and if so in what way)
  • If you’d like the site to reflect a more “Ameblo” style of site (As in changing the background, layout, and colors *look at Sayu’s ameblog*…okay maybe not the color ^^;)
  • If you want the blog to reflect a color scheme matching the major blog translations (Gaki colors + Sayu colors = watermelon colors?) or maybe not at all?
  • Changes in how the front page could be formatted for you liking

We appreciate your viewership and would like to continue to bring you to us for your blog translations desires. Please note while your input is valuable, as always the integration of your ideas into the site will be based on an “as available” basis and may not come into action until  such time that the staff of the site is available to make changes. Regardless, your thoughts are being heard. We are always looking for feedback and potential newcomers here at Nantonaku!

  1. I choose No, because it’s both Sayu’s blog but I hope she stays in Gree, because saving pics there is much easier than Ameblo and doesn’t allow me to right-click the pics.
I do like the formatting based on Ameblo.
The site look is fine as it is.

Though I want to suggest to also put the date (Ameblo uses – instead of / on date format) instead of just putting “OriginalURL” since the date is my bookmark in reading her blog.

    • Interesting reasoning, in general Ameblo allows the possibility of bigger pictures, and it’s not difficult to get them so I don’t see a problem.
As for the date format, the first line of any of the ameblo entries on this site is the date, as it follows the format which ameblo blogs put their content (though I cannot do date->title->theme, so I do title->date->theme), if anyone wanted it to be more ameblo formated it would be one of the first things I’d look into in terms of making the formatting match, but that might not be easy to make it display sayu post time rather than ours ^^;.

  2. I also chose NO because I believe that any fancy addition might affect sooner or later your speedy translations :)

Use Firefox and uncheck Disable or replace context menus. Follow the link to see how to do it. Use Firefox’s Tools –> Page info –> Media to get hold of pictures “hidden” behind a transparent pixel.

And try to use a feed reader like Google Reader or RSSOwl to read InvisNantoka blog translations. These readers sort the entries by date and mark the ones you already have read.

  3. I didn’t notice that you already put the date under the title, sorry about that, thanks a lot. Also thanks to XavierB I can now save the pics on her blog.
BTW on her Ameblo blog, can I view multiple entries on a single page instead of only one entry? I can do that on her Gree blog, like 5 entries at one page:
    http://gree.jp/michishige_sayumi/blog/0
So that I can save pics much faster instead of clicking one page at a time.

  4. Don’t know for which one to vote… i like it as you are doing it now but i think i would like it if for each entry you put tags like “ameba” or gree” and if i wnat i can search for the gree entries or for the ameba ones hehe and i like the designe of the site but maybe it would be really pretty if you ad the banner that Sayu has on her ameblo because is really cute =)

    • If I were to add a banner it wouldn’t be a copy of Sayu’s banner itself, but something inspired by it. I sounds weird to say it since I’d have to use sayu pictures to make a banner, but the less I “copy take” I think the better…as it stands taking the pictures direct from the blog is probably a little in the wibblywobbly territory if someone wanted to complain.

  5. It’s really confusing which blog to follow, hope you guys put as many view options as possible for us readers and followers. It really doubles the work, but we couldn’t blame Sayu and her management on putting things like this, so Gambatte kudasai ne!=]

  6. If I may ask, what about it is confusing? If you’re reading translations from here, does it really matter which blog it comes from? You can read the translation here, then click the original URL link at the bottom which will take you to whichever blog you like? If I’m not understanding something please let me know!

    • I suppose I can look into something for that, though with what you’re asking for it might be worth it to find the time to redesign the whole site. For now though I’d like to provide you with the idea of just observing the format until I get something in place (or until I decide to just put “Ameblo” or “Gree” at the top whatever comes first), as Ameblo’s will have pictures scattered throughout and gree blogs will have the pictures on the right hand side.
